What documents do Thai residents need to prepare to rent a car?

For Thai citizens, if you want to rent a car with Drivehub, you need the following required documents:

Local Car Rental Providers (LOCAL)

Document Required

  • Identification Card or Passport
    The renter must be over 21 years old and the ID must have at least 6 months remaining validity.
  • Driving License
    Must have been issued for more than 1 year and have at least 6 months remaining validity.

Additional Documents

  • A flight ticket or other travel ticket to the destination.

For Company Employees

  • Latest payslip
  • Employment certificate from the company

For Business Owners

  • Documents proving ownership of the business, such as a tax registration certificate or company registration certificate.

For Students

  • Student ID and proof of student status
    ***A guardian is required to co-sign the rental agreement and must be present on the day of car pick-up. Otherwise, the rental company reserves the right not to deliver the car and without refund the money.

For Cars Used During Repairs

  • Repair notice, insurance claim documents, and receipt from the garage or service center.

International Car Rental Providers (INTER)

Document Required

  • Identification Card
    Must be at least 23 years old and have at least 6 months remaining validity.
  • Driving License
    Must have been issued for at least 1 year and have at least 6 months remaining validity.
  • Credit Card
    The actual credit card need to be present and the name on the credit card must match the name of the person picking up/rent the car only.

Note:

The car cannot be picked up if;

  • No actual credit card to be present.
  • The name on the credit card was not match with the person who picking up/rent the car.
  • The credit card has no sufficient credit for the rental fee and the deposit guarantee for the damage.
